Emulation of the PS2 originals is inherantly and definitively inferior in every single technical aspect including inferior performance and quality on every notable metric of measurement. Zodiac Age is not comparable to emulation. There's only so much one can upscale without it looking like garbage.
Final fantasy xii pcsx2 settings 1080p#
It is the difference between upscaling something with 360p source to 1080p and having a native 1080p source. The UI was still blurry low-res 2D crap and couldn't be up-rezzed much (or at all).įor the 3D models the upscaling works very well but the finer details are lost. PCSX2 was used to just upscale the 3D textures. I'd love to see that person link to any of these mysterious packs for that specific game (FF12 vanilla or IZJS) because I sure as hell have never heard of them. There are no mysterious 'high definition texture packs' available for FF12 or IZJS and the person who said it is a bloody idiot. Compared more to WINE than to actual emulation.Īs someone who's extensively tested and helped fix many issues FF12 IZJS has with PCSX2 emulation, the Zodiac Age version runs significantly better. Uses many of the same art/scripting files but it is running natively on Windows instead of emulation.

Zodiac Age running natively on PC is NOT an emulation of the PS2 version or PS4 versions. As someone who played IZJS extensively on both original fat-PS2 hardware and emulated in PCSX2, I have to clarify a few points.
